Return & Refund Policy
Last updated : 24th August 2025
1. General
This Return & Refund Policy (“Policy”) applies to purchases made through Strathearn Cheese’s online store. By placing an order, you agree to the terms set forth herein.
As our cheeses and butters are perishable, customers do not have the usual 14-day cancellation right available under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This does not affect your statutory rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed goods.
2. Non-Returnable Items
Due to the perishable nature of cheese and butter, returns cannot be accepted except where goods are faulty, damaged, or incorrect.
3. Damaged or Incorrect Orders
3.1 If your order arrives damaged, or you receive incorrect items, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery.
3.2 You may be asked to provide photographs of the goods and packaging to assist in investigation.
3.3 Where the claim is accepted, we will offer a replacement or refund.
4. Quality Concerns
4.1 If you believe your order is faulty or not of satisfactory quality, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
4.2 We may request a description and/or photographs of the goods.
4.3 If, following investigation, the goods are found to be faulty, you will be offered a refund or replacement.
5. Cancellations
5.1 Orders may be cancelled by the customer up to 24 hours before dispatch.
5.2 Once goods have been dispatched, cancellations cannot be accepted.
6. Refunds
6.1 Refunds, where applicable, will be processed to the original method of payment.
6.2 Refunds will normally be issued within 7 working days of agreement.
6.3 Strathearn Cheese’s liability for any refund shall not exceed the purchase price of the goods in question.
7. Limitation of Liability
Strathearn Cheese shall not be liable for spoilage or deterioration arising from the customer’s failure to take prompt delivery, follow storage instructions, or otherwise handle the products appropriately. Strathearn Cheese shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the condition, delivery, or use of the products.
8. Governing Law
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, and any disputes arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
